Create a Resource Message
Resource messages can be created via the Live Messages or All Messages option.
When creating resource messages, the Add/Edit Resource Message form is displayed:

Field
Explanation
Sequence No
Assigns a sequence number that can be used to display messages in order, or prioritized.
Message Text
Enter the actual text to be displayed. Message text should be kept brief to ensure that the full text is displayed on the message bar. For messages to appear in a second language, enter a pipe character (|)Â after the English text followed by the second language version of the message.
Message From
Enter the name of the user who is the source of the information.
This is only used for information purposes.
Message Entered By
Enter the name of creator of the message.
System-wide Message
Select 'Yes' to display the message on all screens.
If you select 'No', an option becomes available to display the message in all rooms but not summary screens.
If this message is to be displayed in an individual room, select 'No'; a further option then becomes available for you to select one or more rooms to receive the message.
All-resource Message
Select 'Yes' if the message is to be displayed for all resources but not summary screens, otherwise select 'No'.
Resource List
If the message is not system-wide or all-resources, but is to be directed to specific resources, click on Select Resources.
Select the resources on which the message is to be displayed. Alternatively, you can list the resource names manually, separated by commas.
The resource names used here are the display names from the resource profiles.
Start Date
By default, messages are displayed instantly. You can use this field to specify a future date and time from which the message will be displayed. This is useful, for example, for news announcements.
Expiry Date
Specify the date when the message will expire and disappear from the display(s). The default expiry time/date is midnight on the date of creation.
- Click Save to view the Resource Message List:
The Status column indicates that the message is 'live'. The message is displayed in your selected resource:
