It is vital to take a backup of the configuration files before upgrading the RX Sensor Service.

Configuration Backup

Firstly, navigate to the RX Sensor Service/data folder, by default this can be found here

C:\Program Files (x86)\QED\RX Sensor Service/data

Make a copy of the two configuration files, serviceConfig.json and hueBridges.json.

Uninstall

The next step is to uninstall the current service.

This can be done via the Control Panel -> Programs and Features.

Upgrade

Now install the latest version.
Follow the steps detailed in the main installation guide, found here:

https://resourcexpress.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/RSG/pages/410648586/Philips+Hue+Motion+Sensors#Running-the-Installation

Once the installation process has completed, replace the serviceConfig.json and hueBridges.json files found in the new installation with the versions saved from the beginning of this guide.

C:\Program Files (x86)\QED\RX Sensor Service/data

Restart the Service

Once the configuration files have been updated the service will need to be restarted.
Follow the steps found in our main installation guide on how to start/restart the service.
