When using ResourceXpress for the first time, the first task for users is to configure the system wide settings.

Accessing the System Settings

To access System Settings, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the ResourceXpress application in your chosen browser using the URL and credentials provided by QED.
    The ResourceXpress application opens. Details of your licence and server are displayed in the top right of the screen:
  2. Select Administration Settings in the header.
  3. Select System Settings from the menu to display the System Settings tabs:
  4. Work through the tabs to configure settings:

    When you first start using ResourceXpress, complete the following settings first in this order:

    • Locations.
    • Email Settings.
    • Resource Server.
     Resource Server.

    Used to configure server settings and logon credentials.

    This section does not apply to resources using local mode as the resource server is not connected to a booking system.

    The Resource Server tab is used to specify the resource server connection details to the booking system:

    1. In the Server Host Name field enter the qualified name or IP address of the resource server.
    2. Click Update Profiles if you have changed to a new bookings server in the Server Host Name This updates all profiles in the system with information from the new server.
    3. In the Server Port field enter the required port number. The default setting is HTTP port 80.
    4. Complete the fields in the Global Resource Authentication section:

      Field Explanation

      Resource Login User ID

      Enter the user id and password required to access the resource server.

      Resource Login Password

      Resource Login Domain

      Enter the resource server domain name.

    5. Click Save.
    6. Check to see if the server is working as expected. Enter the text shown in the Check Server section and click Check Server.
      If the server is working as expected, this message is displayed at the bottom of the screen:
