User Authentication Tab
The User Authentication tab is used to configure the method by which users are authenticated to access and use ResourceXpress:
Basic Authentication Settings
Complete the first section in the tab

Authentication Protocol | LDAP(S)Integrate into an existing LDAP server. ResourceXpressThis will utilise the ResourceXpress built-in user database available from the User Management tab. Resource Profile SettingsThis will use the authentication details from the 3rd party booking system, relevant for Asure/EMS, this will be dependant on the connection properties found in each profile. Asure or EMSThis will use the user database provided by Asure or EMS, requires the relevant section to be filled in to allow connection to these services. This is similar to the above but is a global option Asure or EMS options are only shown when using an Asure or EMS licence |
Authentication Type | Username & PasswordRequires users to authenticate using a username and password, an on-screen keyboard is available for Room Screens, Kiosk & Maps. Access CodeRequires user authenticate using an Access/PIN Code, an on-screen keyboard is available for Room Screens, Kiosk & Maps. See Users for help adding user access codes |
Show Password Characters | Yes: Characters will be shown while a password is being typed. No: Character will be hidden while a password is being typed. |
Resource Display Auto Logout | When enabled, the user will be logged out after every operation (i.e. Book, Check-In, Check-Out). |
LDAP Settings
If you have selected LDAP under Authentication Protocol the following settings are required.
Field | Explanation |

LDAP Server | Enter an LDAP server address or an Active Directory hostname. |
LDAP Domain | Enter the LDAP or Active Directory domain. |
LDAP Bind User | Enter the Bind Users username. |
LDAP Bind Password | Enter the Bind Users password. |
SSL | Checking this box will force LDAP traffic over port 686 |
Distingished Name | Enter the Distinguished Name (DN) for the directory |
LDAP Attributes
To link ResourceXpress with LDAP, enter the respective Attributes for each of the following user values.

3rd Party Booking Systems
If using an Asure or EMS licenced server there will be an additional Authentication Protocol option available. The Connections Settings fields will need to be configured with your unique details.
RFID Settings
Field | Explanation |
Show RFID Screen | Yes: Allow users to authenticate using an RFID card/tag. No: Does not show the RFID authentication option and requires users to use either Access Code or Username & Password (as defined above). |
Convert RFID
Choose either Simple or Advanced depending on your requirements.
Simple
Field | Explanation |
Convert to Decimal | Check to convert the RFID code to decimal. |
Remove first | Enter the number of characters that you want to remove from the beginning of the RFID code. |
Prefix output with | Enter prefix data for each RFID code. |
Advanced
Field | Explanation |
Input Format | Select whether the RFID code format is in Hexadecimal or Decimal. |
Input Length | Set the length of the RFID code. |
Output Bits | Select the bit configuration for RFID code. |
First Bits | This is only editable if ‘Some bits’ is selected above. Set the first bit to be read from the RFID code. |
Number Bits | This is only editable if ‘Some bits’ is selected above. Set the number of bits to be read from the RFID code. |
Prefix with Bits | Enter a prefix to apply to the converted output. |
Output Format | Select whether the output required is Hexadecimal or Decimal. |
Number of Digits | Enter the number of digits for RFID output. |
Remove First | Enter the number of characters that you want to remove from the beginning of the RFID output. |
Prefix With | Enter prefix to apply to the converted output. |
Add Leading Zero | This will affect the output RFID value. |
