If using Windows devices an add-on service is required. RX Client API Service for Windows
Enabling Screen Security
To enable screen security, navigate to the Screen Security tab which can be found on the System Settings page, under the Administration Settings menu.
From here you can enable security for Room Screen, Kiosk and Maps.
QSign is coming soon
If using a Windows device a new Service application will need to be installed.
For more information about this check out the guide here RX Client API Service for Windows.
Once enabled all currently connected devices will display an error message.
Assigning a MAC Address
Unregistered Devices List
If you already have devices connected to ResourceXpress there is a quick way to automatically add all the MAC addresses to the correct profiles, to do this you will need to go to the Unregistered Devices page which can be found under Reporting Module in the menu.
This method will work for Resource, Kiosk and Map Profiles.
From this view, you will see a list of all the devices that have tried to connect to a ResourceXpress profile, this list can be reduced using the filter options.
From here you can choose Auto Link to assign each MAC address to the associated profile, which can be seen under the column Resource Name. Alternatively, you can individually auto-assign a MAC address and profile using the LINK icon in this column.
Once the MAC Address has been assigned to a profile it will disappear from this list.
If the suggested profile is incorrect you are able to choose which profile the MAC address will be assigned by selecting the icon in the Register column.
This option will provide a list of all profiles which can be filtered to show profiles which currently have a registered MAC address or profiles which do not currently have a registered MAC address.
Multiple MAC addresses can be registered to the same profile.
When selecting a profile that already has a MAC address assigned you will be prompted to Overwrite or Add the new MAC address.
For Windows devices, the RX Client API Service for Windows will need to be running on each device before they will appear in the Unregistered Devices list
Assign & Manage MAC Addresses by Profile
There is an option to manually assign each MAC address to the correct profile, this option can be used to pre-assign MAC addresses prior to screen installation.
For Room Screen
Select Edit Profile for the applicable profile in the Resource List view, there is a Room Screen Security tab which will allow you to enter a MAC address for this profile.
From this view, you can also remove MAC addresses by clicking the DELETE icon alongside each MAC address.
Multiple MAC addresses can be registered to the same profile.
For Kiosk
Select Edit Profile for a Kiosk profile, at the bottom of the page there is an option to add MAC addresses.
Similar to the Resource Profile, this is where MAC addresses can be unassigned also.
For Maps
MAC addresses for Maps are not assigned to a specific Map profile, they are instead globally applied to all Map profiles, this is because navigation between Map profiles is required.
From the Map Profiles List page, select Device Security found on the top right above the list.
